Walkfares Jazz Evening 2025​

At the moment, the weather forecast is showing light rain between 18:00 and 20:00, but we are still going ahead as planned, please bring a raincoat / umbrella.

When is it?​

Saturday 30th August 2025 starting from 6pm​

What is happening?​

  • A live jazz band - Mateo Grilo and his Jazz Quartet
  • A bar selling beer, wine and Pimms
  • A cocktail bar selling various cocktails and spirits
  • A small selection of bar bites available for purchase
  • All purchases can be made with cash or card

Evening timetable​

  • 18:00 - 19:00 - Arrive and find a location in the garden, eat and drink
  • There will be 3 x 1 hour live Jazz sets.
  • In between sets, there will be background Jazz music
  • The live music will end around 23:00 and the evening will end at midnight.

How much is it?​

The cost of the evening is £15 per person, this covers the evenings entertainment and the facilities.

All the profit earned from the evening will go to Farleigh Hospice, who provide hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses and breavement across mid Essex.

Last year we raised £450, let's see if we can double it this year!​

What else do I need to know?​

Seating​

We have some chairs, tables and picnic blankets, but if you have your own (table, chair, picnic blanket etc.) please bring them.

Attire​

There is no formal dress-code, it may be advisable to bring a sweatshirt, coat or jumper as the evening may be chilly later on.

Parking​

We have space for 25 cars and will be allocated on a first-come basis. You can park on Church Road, Juniper Road and Plantation Road.

Payments​

We accept both cash and card for payments for tickets, food and drink.

Children​

The evening is an adult-only event, but children over 16 years would be welcome too.

Inclement weather​

As this is an outdoor event, should the forecast for the evening of the event show excessive rain, we may need to postpone or cancel the event, please check on this website for information about this before travelling. Refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled.

A little rain or short showers should not cause any issues, but please bring umbrellas if this is in the forecast.
